Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is a government department in Tamil Nadu which is responsible for the recruitment of eligible personnel into the State’s Public Service. TNPSC recruits for Group 1,2,2A,4 services of the state government. TNPSC Group 1, Group 2, and other exams are called TNPSC exams.

Eligibility: Candidates should have obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies 10th, HSC, degree. Candidates who are in the final year of degree examination may also apply for Group 1 Preliminary exams

Exam Pattern: TNPSC Group I has three phases of examination that are PRELIMS, MAINS, and INTERVIEW or ORAL TEST.

Group I - PRELIMS

Group I - MAINS

Posting: Deputy Collector (DC), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax (ACCT), Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Assistant Director of Rural Development Department, District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services)

Both the Group 2 and Group 2A exams have been consolidated by TNPSC. For both Group 2 interview and 2A non-interview positions, the syllabus is the same. Preliminary and main exams are frequently given concurrently, but for the Group 2 interview post, there is a 40-mark oral interview test.

The TNPSC Group 2 exam, which comes after the Group 1 exam, is the second level of the test conducted by the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission. The State Government of Tamil Nadu will hire applicants who are chosen for the interview position in the Group 2 exam as gazetted officials similar to Group 1 officers. Posting: Deputy Commercial Tax Officer, Probation officer, Sub Registrar, Assistant Inspector of Labour, Junior Employment Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Assistant Inspector in Local Fund Audit Department, Senior Inspector of Co-operative Societies

TNPSC Group 4 exam is to recruit candidates for clerical posting in the State Government of Tamilnadu.

Eligibility: Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification Viz. Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Course of studies.

Exam Pattern: Candidates those who are scored the eligible marks will be selected and called for document verification.

Group 4 - PRELIMS

Posting: VAO, Junior assistant, Bill collector Grade I, Typist, Steno Typist Grade III, Field Surveyor, Draftsman
